A tsunami is a series of waves in a water body caused by a large displacement of water. Happens in the ocean or in large lakes.

Impacts

Primary

• Animals can wash ashore and die
• Many people can drown
• The flooding of lands can lead to crop damage
• Infrastructure may get destroyed

Secondary

• Ships can get shipwrecked and/or beached. This is a major pollution issue.
• People may get trapped under collapsed structures
• Lots of money would have to be spent in order to fix infrastructure and in order to deal with the displaced people.
