Why do Atoms Bond?

If we look at the the noble gasses(group 0), we can see that they do not form bonds. That is because they have a very stable electronic configuration. Their shells are full.$^0$

However, every other element they do not have this special property. When they form bonds, it is so that they may reach this stable electronic configuration.$^0$
